Manchester City's Clinical Finishing Seals Victory Over West Ham
Goals from Haaland, Foden, and Mahrez secure three points for the Premier League champions
West Ham's Bowen briefly equalized, but City's relentless attack proved too much to handle
Manchester City underlined their status as Premier League title favorites with a clinical 3-1 victory over West Ham United on Saturday. Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and Riyad Mahrez were on target for the champions, while Jarrod Bowen's equalizer for the Hammers proved to be a mere consolation.
City's victory was built on their relentless attacking play. They dominated possession and created numerous chances throughout the match. Haaland opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a close-range finish, and Foden doubled the lead just before the break with a superb solo effort.
Bowen pulled one back for West Ham early in the second half, but City quickly restored their two-goal advantage through Mahrez. The Algerian winger curled a stunning effort into the top corner from the edge of the area.
West Ham never looked like finding another goal, and City comfortably saw out the win. The victory takes Pep Guardiola's side to the top of the Premier League table, two points ahead of Arsenal.
